Tokyo Universal Railway Map/Calendar

This brilliant re-imagining of Tokyo's intricate railway system by Korean designer Zero per Zero doubles as an innovative and fun, easy-to-use calendar. (Zero per Zero won the communication design award for these railway maps.)

Look closely and you'll notice - each row serves as a month going across, while each grid is a day.

The beautiful package comes with colored adhesive post-it notes, so you can write and add things to your schedule without messing up the design.

I have always been a fan of the rail system in Japan, especially the intricate network of trains intersecting throughout Tokyo. It truly is a sight to behold. That's why I didn't think twice in getting this poster. It's not only an informative reference to the Tokyo Metro Rail lines, but it is pretty darn stylish as well. I definitely appreciate Zero per Zero's artistic interpretation of this marvel of engineering and infrastructure. The fact that this poster doubles as a calendar is just the cherry on top. Having given my praise of the item, I must admit that it is a very niche item and though I highly recommend it for it's informative and artistic appeal, I don't know that many other people would appreciate it for what it is. In short: I love it, but in the end it's a map of train lines that looks cool. Take it or leave it.

The material is very durable and should last through many tapings, tackings and rollings. I framed mine, but had to cut about 1/8 of an inch from the bottom for it to fit into a standard frame. A frame is totally unnecessary, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist. Great poster! 5/5
