White Rabbit Press :: Japanese Language :: Practise with pictures, Learn through Pictures [Basic Grammar]

Practise with pictures, Learn through Pictures [Basic Grammar]
Practise with pictures, Learn through Pictures [Basic Grammar]
Learn basic Japanese grammar easily - through pictures! It's as easy and fun as it sounds. This is a unique and clever approach to studying Japanese - and it's very effective. Each chapter takes on a basic grammar point. You learn the pattern, and then practice it using the images as a guideline. For example, in Chapter 1 you practice the basic "X wo kudasai" [X, please.] The example shows a man asking for a juice saying, "Juusu wo kudasai" [Juice, please.] To practice, there are a bunch of little cartoons that depict people asking for or ordering things -- and you have to imagine what they would say. In this way you practice grammar using images. Starting from "kudasai," you move on to more complex and interesting grammar points, so by the end you will have covered a great deal of even intermediate grammar. To give you a reference point: in the final chapter, the causative form (-saseru) is covered. All the suggested answers are included in the back of the book.

This book looks extremely useful. However, I've found out that the CD-ROM is an interactive Shockwave program that will not run. It keeps asking for Shockwave 8.5 when the latest version installed is 11. So I recommend buying this product for the book, and not even worrying about using the CD-ROM.
